Persönliche MeinungIch habe gerade gesehen, dass dies ein erster Band ist und bin geschockt. Nun gut.«"As Mama says, honey catches more flies than vinegar."»Das Buch wurde gekauft, weil ich das Cover irgendwie noch witzig fand und der Klappentext mir sehr gefiel. Eine leichte Lovestory. Juhui. Und sogar noch von Alexander Hamilton! Da ich so gut wie nichts von dessen Leben wusste, dachte ich mir, komm jetzt lernst du auch noch was dazu. Haha falsch gedacht. Gelernt habe ich nichts.«"Permission to speak freely, Lieutnant."Larpent looked at him with confusion. Alex was his superior officer. he need ask for nothing from him."Uh, permission granted... sir?""God damn his soul to hell!" Alex said, and collapsed atop his bed.»Leider war das Buch eher mittelmässig bis langweilig. Für Alex ist es Liebe auf den ersten Blick, während Eliza ihn die erste Hälfte des Buches verabscheut und dann ohne (für mich als Leser ersichtlichen) Grund ist sie auf einmal auch in ihn verliebt. Die Szenen aus dem Alltäglichen Leben ziehen sich hin.. so zäh, es passiert praktisch nichts. Zwischendurch gibt es witzige, süsse doer interessante Passagen aber die werden dann wieder durch einen Sprung, in dem die Gefühle der Personen auf einmal total anders sind, wieder zerstört.«For once, Eliza had to agree with her sweet younger sister rather than her smart older one.»Ich hab das Buch so nebenbei immer mal wieder aufgegriffen und weitergelsen, wirklich in der geschichte angekommen bin ich nicht. Und ich habe auch nichts gelernt.
